Dubai Internet City explores future of innovation at inaugural edition of GITEX Asia
Dubai, UAE, 25 April 2025: The growing prominence of the global east in technological development presents an opportunity for businesses and investors to shape the next wave of innovation from Dubai, said Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial at TECOM Group and Managing Director of Dubai Internet City, as the Middle East’s leading tech hub concluded its participation at the inaugural edition of GITEX Asia in Singapore.
Founded by TECOM Group PJSC in 1999, Dubai Internet City, the enabler of the Middle East’s digital economy, is home to companies from major Asian tech markets such as South Korea, Singapore, and India.

Notable Asian tech specialists driving the global tech agenda with a base at Dubai Internet City include artificial intelligence (AI) leaders such as SenseTime, Samsung, Alibaba Cloud, and Tata Consultancy Services, as well as renowned fintech businesses including Policy Bazaar, Union Pay, and Hero Fincorp.
Dubai Internet City attended the inaugural edition of GITEX Asia on 23-25 April as part of the Dubai stand led by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, with its participation building on strong relationships with key Asian partners. The district entered strategic partnerships with South Korea’s National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) and India’s National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) during the 2023 and 2024 editions of GITEX Global, respectively, to support business expansion, talent development, and bilateral collaboration pathways.
Attending alongside in5 – the region’s leading start-up and entrepreneurship incubator founded by TECOM Group in 2013 – Dubai Internet City showcased enablement and growth opportunities from its ecosystem at GITEX Asia. The district is home to 4,000 multinational companies, Fortune 500s, and start-ups, as well as more than 31,000 professionals and 19 Innovation and research and development (R&D) Centres operated by leaders such as 3M, Google, and Oracle.
