Malek Sultan Al Malek is the Managing Director of Dubai Internet City (DIC) and Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ), members of TECOM Investments, leading clusters in the technology and outsourcing sectors in the UAE.
Since joining DIC in 2002 and through holding various executive management roles, Al Malek has led and significantly contributed in positioning DIC as a pioneering technology destination in the region. Currently, the business park hosts most of the IT Fortune 500 companies, including around 1,400 specialized industry leaders from diverse segments of the information and communication technology sector. In 2010, Dubai Internet City achieved record growth with over 150 companies setting up base at the business park.
In addition to DIC, Al Malek manages Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ), the world’s first business park dedicated to the outsourcing industry. He is responsible for ensuring that the Free Zone maintains its competitive advantage for companies in the onshore outsourcing business. DOZ was ranked amongst the ‘50 special economic zones’ of the future by the Foreign Direct Investment magazine in 2009.
Al Malek is known for his results-oriented management acumen and leadership capabilities. Key areas of focus have been his strong belief in supporting young entrepreneurs, fostering innovation and establishing Dubai as a hub for home grown talent.
He has a bachelor’s degree from the UAE-based Higher College of Technology and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Bradford University, UK. He is also a board member of the Energy Management Services International.

Majed Alsuwaidi Director Business Development

Majed Al Suwaidi is the Director of Business Development with Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone, responsible for negotiating and managing business relationships, contributing to the development of products that serve market needs, and identifying sales strategies to leverage new business opportunities.
In his current capacity, Majed also oversees and streamlines operations to ensure consistent performance improvements at the DIC Regional Sales department and compliance with TECOM sales functions, policies and procedures. He additionally ensures that processes and measures are in conformity with local and international market standards.
Concurrently, Majed heads FirstSteps@DIC Division, a unique facility specifically designed for ICT companies seeking to operate from Dubai on a short-term basis.
Since joining Dubai Internet City in April 2006 as Sales Director, Majed has re-organized the ICT business park’s sales structure through the integration of products and services as well as segmenting teams based on regional targets. He has also ensured the alignment of DIC’s sales strategy with TECOM Investment’s overall mission to achieve efficiency within his department.
Earlier, Majed had a five-year stint with Emirates airline that was followed by his role as a core member of the business development team at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Reem Shaban Head of Marketing

Reem Shaban is Head of Marketing at Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone, members of TECOM Investments. She is responsible for achieving the corporate and business objectives of the brands through the development of the strategic marketing plan and utilisation of effective communication, marketing, media and PR tools.
As part of her role, Reem is also mandated to develop, direct and handle brand events, business partnerships, CSR projects and strategic associations. Ensuring the delivery of effective and consistent external communication that accurately represents the organisational goals.
Prior to joining Dubai Internet City, Reem Shaban was an Account Manager at Fortune Promoseven, a leading advertising and communication agency in the UAE where she developed, oversaw and implemented advertising strategies for National Commercial Bank. She has also played a key role in managing communications for Etisalat, Dubai Duty Free and L’Oreal.
Reem has been recognized for her contribution to the brands she has worked with and the industry. Under her leadership DIC received the ‘Achievement Award’ at GITEX Technology Week 2010, the leading annual ICT conference in the region. TECOM Investments also presented her with the ‘Brand Manager Award for Valuable Contribution’ in 2009 as well as the ‘Best Saving Initiative Award’ in 2010 in and NCB awarded her with the ‘Best Client Servicing Member’ in 2005.
Reem holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the Lebanese American University and is a member of its ‘Honorary Students Club’. She has taken international leadership training (ILT) courses in communication, leadership as well as productivity and strategic marketing.

Rekha Setpal Head of Community Services |

Rekha Setpal is Head of Community Services, Dubai Internet City, a member of TECOM Investments. She is responsible for enhancing an industry ecosystem that nurtures entrepreneurship through thought-leadership/industry events. She is also mandated to ensure the continuity of cluster benefits and community services across the ICT business park.
Rekha brings with her rich macro-management skills and a systemic perspective on effective project development and the incubation of new business ideas. Through her decade long association with DIC, she has successfully created an enabling business environment.
Rekha joined DIC as Partner Relations Manager in 2001. As part of her role, she was required to oversee account management, business excellence, and project management.
Prior to joining Dubai Internet City, Rekha held various challenging positions in both the public and private sector. Her longest tenure has been with Etisalat, where in her capacity as the Logistics Support Officer she successfully managed the portfolios of customer service and special projects.
Rekha is a member of TECOM Investments’ Partner Development Management (PDM) Committee that works towards creating a value proposition and competitive advantage for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and multinationals. Rekha holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the American Global International University in Miami.
